Rose Ireland, Veteran Long Term Care Nurse Executive, Joins
Opus Healthcare Solutions, Inc.
Former VP
of Texas Association of Homes and Services for the Aging was
2003 Health Care Hero Educator of the Year
AUSTIN, TEXAS,
October 7, 2004 — Rose Ireland, former
Vice President for Clinical and Regulatory Services for the
Texas Association of Homes and Services for the Aging was
recently appointed Area Vice President for Long Term Care
by Opus Healthcare Solutions, a Web-based clinical software
company headquartered in Austin, Texas.
Ms. Ireland has over
30 years experience in Long Term Care (LTC) nursing and has
held several important positions in the field such as Texas
Department of Human Services Special Projects and Training
Manager for LTC Quality Assurance and Lead Program Specialist
for implementation of OBRA ’87,
the RAI and the Patient Self-Determination Act.“
I
have devoted my entire professional life to improving the
quality of LTC. First, as a direct provider of long term
care, then as a patient advocate because both of my parents
became LTC patients, and I have subsequently spent many years
working in the regulatory environment. When I decided to
join a company that provides services to the LTC industry,
I wanted to make sure I was going to be able to continue
my efforts to improve the quality of LTC delivery,” Ms.
Ireland said.“
I was excited when Opus Healthcare approached
me. I had been aware of their work in the computerization
of LTC clinical records. Their product will bring LTC documentation
into the 21st century, because the Opus methodology will
allow fine-tuning to meet every aspect of the LTC delivery
process. This is important for LTC nurses because it will
make their lives easier and their practices safer. It is
also critical for the LTC facilities because it will provide
them with a more complete record of care which reduces their
liability. I have been an expert witness in several cases,
and the trial lawyers always attacked incomplete clinical
records,” Ms. Ireland added.
Tim Rhoads, CEO of Opus
Healthcare Solutions, said, “We
are extremely pleased to have someone with Rose’s industry
background and stature join our company. We intend to become
the leader in LTC clinical documentation and Rose will be
very instrumental in helping us achieve that goal. It is
rare to find someone with her provider, regulatory and advocacy
background.”
