Opus Healthcare Solutions Launches Clinical Software Products
At UHS’ Methodist Hospital In Three-Month Timeframe
Driven by Standardized Web-based Software, a Proven Launch
Plan,
and a Dedicated Team, Opus Healthcare Achieves UHS’ Accelerated
Go-Live Target
AUSTIN, TEXAS, September 2, 2004 — Opus Healthcare
Solutions, Inc., a provider of Web-based clinical data management
software, and Universal Health Services, Inc., today announced
the successful accelerated launch of new clinical software
systems in the 306-bed Methodist Hospital in East New Orleans,
Louisiana. OpusOM®, Order Management, OpusMD®,
Physician Web Access, OpusCDR™, Clinical Data Repository
and OpusLab®, Laboratory
system, went live in less than three months, a process that
typically takes healthcare organizations a minimum of six
months. The intensified launch schedule was driven by UHS’ strategic
business decision to upgrade the hospital’s information
technology after purchasing the facility in January 2004.
Opus
Healthcare was able to deliver this rapid software launch
because “we are working with sophisticated Web-based
software products, a proven launch process, and an exceptional
team of dedicated people,” says Fred E. Beck, President
of Opus Healthcare. “In particular, the user-friendly
Web-based software and UHS’ unique software standardization
strategy contributed to the high-speed installation.”
“As
the week after the ‘live’ progressed
and the required changes in operations unfolded we found
the new OpusLab® system easy to use and the onsite
Opus team responsive and focused on quick solution,” says
Terri Turner-Marse, Lab Director at Methodist Hospital.“
Methodist
clinicians are excited to have their outdated systems replaced
with the latest clinical technology. They love using all
of the advanced capabilities available in their new easy-to-use
and streamlined order management system, including real-time
access to patient data,” says LeAnn
Moyer, Clinical Implementation Coordinator at Opus Healthcare.
As
Linda Reino, UHS’ CIO summed it up, “The
team worked hard to uncover all the right details in our
planning and design processes to be sure that we understood
the Methodist environment.”
