Successfully Launches
Opus Healthcare Solutions’ Web-based Clinical Suite
New
Clinical Applications Give Facility Several Important Advantages
and
Takes UHS Closer to Vision of Completely Web-Based IT Systems
AUSTIN,
TEXAS, October 15, 2003— Opus Healthcare Solutions,
Inc., a provider of Web-based clinical data management software,
today announced the successful launch of OpusOM®,
Order Management software, OpusMD®, Physician Remote
Access, and OpusCDR™, Clinical
Data Repository, at Manatee Memorial Hospital and Health
System, a 491-bed facility in Bradenton, Florida, and member
of the nationwide Universal Health Services, Inc., (NYSE:UHS)
network.
The installation of OpusOM® on August 19th has given
the clinicians at Manatee easy and intuitive information
management capabilities, and taken the UHS network another
step closer to its ultimate goal of installing Web-based
information management systems in all of its facilities. “The
majority of our clinicians are already familiar with the
Web, so they found OpusOM® extremely easy to use,” explains
Mary Lindamood, Chief Nurse Executive. “In some cases,
staff members took half of the training time we scheduled.”
According

King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, “Our network
recognizes the need for information technology systems that
meet several critical long-term objectives, including improved

release includes several significant enhancements to patient
results display and reporting capabilities. The 'View Results'
feature now offers a more powerful results search and display,
including results from previous visits. The results display
also features visual cues and alerts to rapidly communicate
pertinent clinical information with minimal keystrokes. Crystal
Reports®, the IT industry standard for relational database
reporting, was integrated into the application to offer unparalleled
flexibility and scalability. The value in these features
was immediately apparent to the Manatee clinical community,
who embraced it with enthusiasm.

place orders and access their patients’ data
via the Web. “We are headed toward Web-based physician
order entry and lifetime electronic patient medical records,” explains
